Short About the Case:

Slagelse Municipality and the Velux Foundation wanted to use esports as a tool to engage unemployed youth and adults with disabilities in meaningful activities that could lead to employment or education.

The Issue:

Reaching marginalized groups and providing them with opportunities for engagement, education, or employment is a common challenge for municipalities and NGOs.

The Solution I Brought:

I helped design an esports program that combined gaming with skills development. Participants gained confidence, teamwork abilities, and communication skills through esports, which helped them transition into job training programs and educational opportunities.

The Result:

Many participants moved into employment or educational programs, demonstrating the social impact esports can have on marginalized communities.

Short About the Organisation:

Slagelse Municipality, in collaboration with the Velux Foundation, developed this project to address unemployment and social exclusion using innovative methods, including esports.
